At London Damp Survey, our mission is simple: to give every customer clear, independent answers about the health of their property - and the air they breathe.

 

We’re here to protect your wellbeing, not to sell you building work. Our surveys focus on facts, evidence, and transparency, so you can make informed decisions without the pressure of upselling.

Our Story: Cutting Through Jargon and Sales Pressure

We started London Damp Survey after seeing too many homeowners and tenants misled by sales-driven damp proofing companies.

 

Many surveyors push expensive remedial work without explaining what’s really going on — often using confusing jargon or glossing over crucial issues like indoor air quality.

 

We built our service to be the opposite of that:

  • We measure, test, and report first.

  • We explain the findings in plain English.

  • We recommend work only if it’s genuinely needed — and leave the choice to you.

Our Team

Our surveyors are qualified in both damp diagnostics and indoor air quality (IAQ) — a rare combination that sets us apart.

We’re also approachable. We understand that dealing with damp or mould can feel daunting, so we make the process as simple and stress-free as possible, rely on data and guide you through the process of finding answers.

We use recognised standards and proven methods (e.g. BS 5250:2021, PAS 2035, HHSRS Damp & Mould Guidance, and WHO IAQ Guidelines) to ensure every inspection is thorough, consistent, and defensible.

Responsibility

We believe everyone deserves a safe, healthy home. That’s why we also advocate for tenant rights and help clients understand their legal protections.


We keep up-to-date with new regulations, including Awaab’s Law, which strengthens obligations to fix damp and mould problems in social housing.

Our surveys can provide the clear, independent evidence tenants and landlords need to resolve issues quickly and fairly.

We believe that trust starts with independence. Because we don’t sell remedial work, our surveys are driven by facts, not by sales targets. You’ll know that every recommendation we make is in your best interest, not ours.

We’re committed to clarity. Damp and indoor air quality issues can be complex, but we explain our findings in plain, actionable language so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Above all, we operate with integrity. If our survey shows that no major work is needed, we’ll say so. Our role is to uncover the truth about your property’s condition — not to push unnecessary treatments.

We’re also one of the few companies equipped to identify airborne health hazards — mould spores, VOCs and other indoor pollutants — which we find in around 8 out of 10 properties, but which often go undetected by others.​​
